Cornbread

 Ingredients: 1. Krusteaz Honey Corn Bread Mix 2. 2 Tbls cold butter 3. One Extra Egg 4. 1/2 cup Mexican cheese Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F and place a 9-inch cast iron skillet with 2 TBLS butter inside to heat while you make the batter. In a large bowl, follow the Krusteaz box mix plus extra egg and cheese.  Reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees F. Bake until the center is firm and a cake tester or toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 to 15 minutes and serve.

Buttermilk Biscuits

Makes about 9 biscuits Ingredients 2 cups (250 grams) White Lily All-Purpose Flour 1 tablespoon (15 grams) baking powder 1 teaspoon (3 grams) fine sea salt ¼ cup (57 grams) cold unsalted butter, cubed ¾ to 1 cup (180 to 240 grams) whole buttermilk Instructions Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C). Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and sea salt. Using a pastry blender, cut in cold butter until it resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk, and stir just until combined. (It will be a shaggy mass.) (Alternatively, in the work bowl of a food processor, pulse together flour, baking powder, and sea salt. Add cold butter, and pulse until it resembles coarse meal. With processor running, add buttermilk, pulsing just until combined.)   Ingredients ¼   cup   approximately plus 2 teaspoons vegetable or canola oil, divided 2   teaspoons   finely minced garlic 1   tablespoon   freshly minced ginger ½   cup   less sodium soy sauce ⅓   cup   packed brown sugar 1 ½   pounds   beef shaved steak   see recipe intro for more info 3   tablespoons   cornstarch 6   scallions   trimmed and thinly sliced (white and green parts) Hot cooked brown or white rice   to serve Directions In a small saucepan heat 2 teaspoons of the oil. Add the garlic and ginger, and saute for 30 seconds, then add the soy sauce and brown sugar and bring to a simmer, whisking frequently over medium heat.
